Golf de la Bresse

Imagine stepping into a verdant sanctuary where golf meets untouched nature — welcome to Golf de la Bresse. Nestled between the forests and ponds of the Dombes region, just 15 km from Bourg-en-Bresse and only an hour from Lyon, this par-72, 18-hole Jim-Pern-designed masterpiece invites players into a world away from the bustle. With wide fairways framed by mature trees, dramatic water hazards and subtle but strategic bunkering, the course demands precision and rewards smart play.

The architecture of Jeremy Pern shines through: every hole tests your shot-making from tee to green, while the countryside setting reminds you of why you came — for serenity, for challenge, for escape. After your round, retreat to the clubhouse mansion styled in traditional Bressan architecture, where the “Le Jacques” restaurant serves regional gastronomy overlooking the course. With buggies ready, practice facilities (range, chipping, bunkers), and equipment rental on site, Golf de la Bresse isn’t just a round — it’s an experience.

Whether you’re a travelling golfer exploring France, a weekend escape from Lyon, or simply someone who values golf in nature, this venue delivers. The Dombes lakes glimmer nearby, the air is calm, and your only competition is the crisp greens beneath your feet. Play here once and you’ll understand: this isn’t just golf — it’s a quiet adventure in the heart of France’s golf country.
