Clube de Golfe Terceira

Nestled in the rolling heart of Terceira Island, amidst Portugal’s Azores archipelago, Clube de Golfe Terceira is where Atlantic wind, volcanic soils, and floral splendor conspire to create one of golf’s quietly enchanting escapes. Founded in 1954, this 18-hole, par-72 gem lives high around 375 meters above sea level, offering sweeping views over verdant hills, shadow-cut fairways, and the distant ocean horizon.

From the moment you step onto its grounds, you sense it’s more than just a course — it’s a garden incarnate. Cedar and cryptomeria trees frame the fairways, hydrangeas and azaleas bloom in riotous color, and natural ponds mirror the island sky. The layout is forgiving yet engaging: wide fairways invite confident tee shots, while strategic bunkers, subtle undulations, and water lines keep each hole compelling.

Access is easy: located just a short drive from both Angra do Heroísmo and Praia da Vitória, its central position on the island makes it an ideal golfing destination between flights or island explorations. The clubhouse is warm and welcoming — complete with a restaurant, bar, pro shop, and event rooms that have long been part of Terceira’s social life.

Whether you’re chasing a crisp round under island skies or seeking a course where nature and design whisper in harmony, Clube de Golfe Terceira delivers. Its charm lies not in imposing difficulty, but in quiet elegance — in the scent of flowers, the play of light on green surfaces, and the gentle hum of ocean breezes guiding your swing.
