Originally commissioned in 1909 by the State Mines Gold Mining Company, it transitioned from a private employee facility to a premier 18-hole public-access course.

Aesthetic: It is characterized by dense forests of towering bluegum trees that shield the course from surrounding mining activity, creating a tranquil "golfing oasis". Design: Redesigned by architect Rob O’Friel in the mid-1990s, the layout is well-balanced with a mix of challenging and reachable holes.

Greens & Fairways: The greens are planted with bent grass, while the fairways consist of Kikuyu grass. Difficulty: While described as forgiving off the tee, the course is rated as a "strong 72." Long par-3s (some over 175m) are balanced by reachable par-5s.
