Pitreavie (Dunfermline) Golf Clubについてもっと読む

The club has a very distinguished history and was designed in 1922 by Alister MacKenzie who of course went on to be the architect of world famous courses such as Augusta National, Royal Melbourne and Cypress Point. The course enjoys many of the features you would expect to see at a MacKenzie course – muti-tiered greens, water features, and using the natural shape of the land in a challenging but enjoyable format. Nine of the courses eighteen fairways are crossed by burns which come into play from the tees and approach shots calling for accuracy and good course management skills. Mackenzie’s influence can be seen all over the course, but especially the double and triple tiered greens, which will test the short game and putting abilities of all levels of player.

The course is also notable in that the land the course was built upon was gifted to the club by the Andrew Carnegie Trust. Dunfermline was the place of birth for the world renowned industrialist who made his fortune in America, but he left most of his money to be spent in furthering sport and culture around the world – and especially at his hometown. We feel that the linkage to MacKenzie and Carnegie would be of great interest to golfing visitors coming to Fife and something you could promote if we were added to your list of golfing itineraries.

The club celebrated it’s centenary year in 2022 and in that year invested heavily in both the clubhouse and the course for this very special year for the club. We are continuing to improve our golfing and hospitality offer to visitors and are keen to attract tour operator business. We position ourselves as an excellent addition to any Fife based golf tour – we have relatively low prices compared to our bigger ‘neighbours’. We realise that we are not competing with more famous courses in the east side of Fife around St Andrews, but we are able to provide great value golf / catering packages, we have a strong heritage and see ourselves being in an ideal location for golfing parties within Scotland and for those making the trip into Fife.
