Key Features Landscape & Setting: The course is set in the Urriðavatnsdalir valley, flanked by lava from the dormant Búrfell volcano. Golfers often play alongside nesting moor birds and can view the Snæfellsjökull glacier from elevated tees. Course Details: Officially opened as an 18-hole layout in 1997, it is a par-71 course measuring approximately 5,859 meters (6,407 yards). Difficulty: While designed by Hannes Thorsteinsson to be a friendly member's track, it is deceptively challenging due to firm greens enclosed by lava and undulating terrain. Accolades: It was named "Iceland's Best Golf Course" in 2023 by the World Golf Awards and has hosted several international tournaments, including the 2016 European Ladies’ Amateur Team Championship. Amenities: The club features a spacious clubhouse with a bar and restaurant, a 16-bay driving range, and a secondary 9-hole par-3 course called Ljúflingur.
