About the Golf Course

The 18-hole course at Muir of Ord measures 5542 yards from the medal tees. It is not easy on the golfer; its well-groomed tight fairways and tricky greens demanding a great deal of accuracy, but this testing course can be played with enjoyment no matter what your skill level.

The first four holes – quite short par 4s –are on the eastern side of the Inverness to Wick railway line. Then you cross over the line to play holes 5 to 15, which are a mixed bag of par 3s and 4s. The toughest stretch is between Hole 8 and the signature 12th hole which has a reputation for being one of the most challenging par 3 holes in the north of Scotland.

The longest hole is the 15th, a par 5 from the white tees that measures 478 yards, with numerous bunkers to catch you out.

The final three holes are back over the railway line, and the 18th will test you to the limit with a sneaky out of bounds to the left and behind the green.
