Welcome to Northern Ireland’s most historic golf club — Royal Belfast Golf Club. Since its foundation in 1881, this private members’ club has held a distinguished place in Irish sport. In 1925 the great British architect Harry S. Colt laid out the current 18-hole par-70 parkland layout perched above Belfast Lough in Craigavad, just minutes from Belfast city centre.

From the first tee you’re enveloped in a tranquil woodland setting, framed by sweeping views across the water to the northern hills. Although scenic, don’t be lulled into complacency — the design demands accuracy, not just power. With mature trees, subtle elevation changes and well-positioned bunkers, each hole invites strategy as much as length. The ninth through eleventh holes are especially memorable, skirting the lough’s edge with stunning vistas that reward good shots and strike fear into the mis-hits.
